ABOUT US 

Animal Guardians of South Carolina is a all volunteer, non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization. There are no paid positions so 100% of all contributions directly go to animal care and medical treatment.

We started our journey in April of 2007 as animal rescue transport drivers. Transporting every week from high kill shelters to non-kill shelter. We didn’t know the magnitude of the problem, but wanted to do something to help. Many of these animals were in need of medical treatment and a long transport was to hard on them, some didn’t make it. We realized transporting was not good enough.

By the end of 2007 we had built a heated kennel to house and get these animal ready for transport. All of these animals receive vaccinations for rabies, parvo, and distemper. They are tested for heartworm and treated if pos.

Most are just scared, we socialized with a gentle and loving hand, soon they realizes that all humans aren’t aggressive.  We have had everything from moms giving birth on the morning of transport to dogs several years old stay with us. Since the kennel first opened we have had over 350 dogs stay with us until they were  transported to no kill shelters or forever homes.

We have worked with the North Myrtle Beach Animal Shelter, County shelters in North and South Carolina and rescue groups all over the East coast.

 Our Dream is that people will keep their pets for LIFE, and spay and neuter so that  more are not born only to die.

Animal Guardians is a Rescue and not A Shelter as we cannot take in owner turn ins.
